Fraudulent IHS solicitor sought

Police are investigating complaints about a woman going door to door in Kalihi soliciting money and claiming to be a representative of the Institute for Human Services.

IHS does not do door-to-door solicitations, police said.

Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on cellular.

Crash victims in guarded condition

Two men injured yesterday in a three-vehicle collision on the H-1 Freeway near the Pearl City exit were in guarded condition today at The Queen's Medical Center.

Police said a speeding 2002 Mazda driven by a 28-year-old 'Aiea man rear-ended a 1991 Honda and sent it spinning off the roadway and into a tree. The Mazda flipped over after striking the Honda and slid across three lanes before eventually rear-ending a truck.

The 'Aiea man and a Kailua man, 59, who was driving the Honda, were taken to Queen's. The truck driver, a 35-year-old man from Kailua, was not injured.
