Airlines cut Hawai'i fares

Delta Air Lines yesterday announced discounted "Aloha Hawaii" fares for travel by Dec. 15 that were immediately matched by Hawai'i’s two largest airlines.The discounted fares include $407 roundtrip tickets from Honolulu to San Francisco or Honolulu to Los Angeles. A roundtrip Los Angeles-Maui flight costs $427; Honolulu to Seattle runs $398. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 29.
Aloha is matching the sale fares through all of its routes between the Mainland and Honolulu and Maui.
Hawaiian Airlines had offered similar fares effective Nov. 27. Starting Monday, it will be "bringing those fares forward to remain competitive," a spokesman said.
