Water use on O'ahu dropped again last week, to the lowest point since the Honolulu Board of Water Supply began issuing weekly drought status reports.

Water customers used 154.60 million gallons per day for the week ending Wednesday, a 1 percent drop from the 156.20 million gallons per day use the week before and 6 percent less than the same week last year.

The Board of Water Supply has asked O'ahu residents to restrict their lawn and garden watering to between 12:01 a.m. and 10 a.m., or between 6 p.m. and midnight, on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Water use was down in three of the six water management districts on O'ahu. The biggest decline was in the Windward district, where water use declined 1.66 million gallons per day. Water use was also down in the Honolulu and Wahiawa districts.

Water use was up modestly in the Pearl Harbor, 'Ewa-Wai'anae and Waialua-Kahuku districts, each by less than 1 million gallons per day.
