Rainbow Wahine defeat Wildcats

Associated Press

Unranked Arizona took Hawai'i to five games tonight before Kim Willoughby knocked down the final kill of their women's volleyball match to secure the victory for the Rainbow Wahine.

Hawai'i, ranked second in the USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, won the first two games 30-24, 30-26, only to have the Wildcats take the next two 30-22, 30-27.

The fifth game wasn't decided until Willoughby hit her 33rd kill of the non-conference match to make it 15-13.

Lily Kahumoku added 17 kills and led Hawai'i (20-1) with 16 digs.

Kim Glass had 28 kills and teammate Jennifer Abernathy added 20 for Arizona (9-11).
