Man, 19, in critical condition after shooting

A man was in critical condition yesterday after being shot in Kalihi.

Police said two men, 19 and 26 years old, said they were walking on Kaiwi'ula Street at about 2:30 a.m. when they were approached by two other men.

One of the approaching men pulled a knife and the other pulled a gun.

The 26-year-old man fought with the man with the knife but was not injured.

The 19-year-old victim was shot at least once in the torso and was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

Police recovered the car the two suspects left in, but had not arrested anyone last night.
