Nature group honors hotel VP

Jean Rolles, vice president of community relations for Outrigger hotels, has received an Oak Leaf Award from the The Nature Conservancy. She has been an active board member of the Hawai'i chapter for two decades. Among her accomplishments have been her leadership of and participation in the Development Committee, which over the years has allowed The Nature Conservancy to finance a multitude of projects and programs throughout the Islands, most recently the Hawai'i Forest Campaign and the Kamehame Beach acquisition.

She was one of the first Hawai'i board members to support the Conservancy's Asia-Pacific program. She led a field trip to Palau and, through her efforts, a half-ton outrigger canoe and 1,500 orchid lei were shipped to New York for The Nature Conservancy's "First Great Party to Save the Last Great Places" fund-raising event.
