How Hawai'i hotels are faring

Statewide hotel occupancy increased to 75.2 percent for the week ended Saturday, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. Kaua'i continued to post strong numbers, leading the islands with 87.5 percent occupancy and recording the biggest gain in average daily room rate at $148.11. O'ahu saw improvement in occupancy to 74.7 percent although its average room rate fell to $116.96. Maui's occupancy dropped to 71.8 percent as did the Big Island's.
