Rock and rollin' back the clock

Little Richard is hardly one to mince words when it comes to some good 'ol self-promotion.
"Come out and see the real rock 'n' roll the old time rock 'n' roll!" he exclaimed. "Tell the young and old, the rich and the poor, to come and have a rockin' good time! They'll catch the rockin' pneumonia and the boogie-woogie flu!"
And who are we to argue with rock 'n' roll royalty anyway?
Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis will stir up the malt-shop memories for the baby boomers and show the young 'uns what real roots rock is at Saturday night's Rock and Roll Super Show, 8 p.m. at Blaisdell Arena.
For your $45 or $55 ticket, expect a three-hour class in rock 'n' roll history taught by the masters.
Self-proclaimed "architect of rock 'n' roll" Little Richard will share his blueprint for blending New Orleans R&B with gospel. Lewis follows up with a lesson in rock rebellion and piano-pounding. And Berry ends with a master class in simply embodying rock 'n' roll.
