The president and the first lady took a limousine from Hickam Air Force Base to start their 12-hour tour of O'ahu. The presidential motorcade included 25 vans and sports utility vehicles and a city ambulance.

At the Arizona Memorial, Adm. Thomas Fargo, Mrs. Bush and the president each dropped a single flower into the water over the sunken battleship as a tribute to the men who died during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
