Eric Cortez of Kapa'a, Kaua'i, brought in this 56-pound ulua on the west side of the Garden Island. Cortez set his rod and was making camp for the night when the ulua hit. "I didn't care whether I lost my rubber slippers and fell on the rocks," Cortez says. "I had to get to the rod before the ulua took it out to sea."
