North Shore-raised musician/filmmaker Jack Johnson will organize and headline a daylong environmental benefit concert, the Kokua Festival, Jan. 3 at Kualoa Ranch.

The festival also will feature performances by Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom and Willie K, hip-hop social activist band Michael Franti and Spearhead, Makana and New York-based turntablist DJ Logic.

Ticket details will be announced later.

The festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to sunset, will offer local foods, merchandise and activity booths promoting environmental awareness. All money raised will go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting educational and community programs for sustainable living in Hawai'i.

The festival was announced earlier with the Turtle Bay Resort as the venue.

Johnson said he hoped the Kokua Festival would be the first of annual music benefit concerts for the foundation.
