Key House votes

1. Continuing appropriations

On Tuesday, the House passed, 397-19, a resolution that would continue funding the government through Nov. 7. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

Hawaii votes: Neil Abercrombie (D) YEA; Ed Case (D) DID NOT VOTE



2. Iraq loan

On Tuesday, the House adopted, 277-139, a nonbinding resolution endorsing a plan to make half of Iraq's reconstruction money a loan. A "yea" vote was to endorse the loan plan.

Key Senate votes

1. Abortion

On Tuesday, the Senate passed, 64-34, a bill that would prohibit the procedure critics call "partial birth" abortion. The measure now goes to President Bush. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

Hawaii votes: Daniel Akaka (D) NAY; Dan Inouye (D) NAY



2. Pay raise

On Thursday, the Senate killed, 60-34, an attempt to block senators from receiving a cost-of-living increase. A "yea" vote was to keep the pay raise

3. Cuba travel

On Thursday, the Senate failed on a 59-36 vote to block the enforcement of a ban on travel to Cuba. A "no" vote effectively was to lift the ban on Cuba travel.
