Late TD lifts Damien over Pac-Five

Tevita Williams scrambled four yards for a touchdown with three seconds to play, lifting Damien to a 42-40 victory over Pac-Five yesterday in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu football game at the Kamehameha Schools stadium.

Williams threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns for the Monarchs (2-5 overall, 2-4 ILH). Vaa Faualo caught one touchdown pass and ran for another.

Jordan Tani threw for 233 yards and three scores, and Gyles Lawrence scored three touchdowns for the Wolfpack (2-5-1, 0-5-1).

Cross Country

• Mililani, 'Aiea prevail: Mililani's girls and 'Aiea's boys won O'ahu Interscholastic Association Western Division Cross Country titles yesterday at Nanakuli High.

Mililani, led by Sara Mitman's third-place finish, scored 25 points. Runner-up Pearl City scored 42.

Pearl City's Kari Tanimoto won the 2-mile race in 12 minutes, 12.74 seconds.

'Aiea, led by Travis Burton's second-place finish, scored 29 points. Runner-up Leilehua scored 48.

Radford's Ryan Shell won the 3-mile race in 16:31.94.

Pearl City swept the junior varsity titles. Kapolei's Kawai Carmack won the girls race in 13:51.07 and Pearl City's Joseph Gonzales won the boys race in 16:49.23.

Laguna Creek High senior Rachel Bryan won the sweepstakes race for the second straight year in 17:14.

She beat a field of 140 runners.
