Tonight's Must See

"Skin," 8 p.m., Fox. Amid the sleek sexuality of "Skin," Ron Silver, one of the great actors, has one of his best roles. Silver plays Larry Goldman with layers of texture. He's a pornographer and a warm family man. He rages because his teen daughter is romancing the son of a man bent on destroying him, yet he can't really be mean to her. Tonight, the kids continue their passion, while the man trying to ruin him, District Attorney Tom Roam (Kevin Anderson) pushes hard to get a convict to testify against Goldman. Silver is gentle one moment, blistering the next; it's a great performance.

"Radio Music Awards," 8 p.m., NBC. There's something special about awards shows, says host Ryan Seacrest. "It's event programming. It's exciting to see big stars on stage in new combinations." This one has performances by Beyonce Knowles, Nelly, Avril Lavigne, Tim McGraw and more. It also has Justin Timberlake, who has reinvented himself. "The way he's crossed over into hip-hop and funk is amazing," Seacrest says.

Of Note

"Road to Perdition" (2002), 6 p.m., HBO. A stunning film, superbly directed by Sam Mendes ("American Beauty"). Tom Hanks plays a vengeful hitman.

"Rats, Bats and Bugs," 7 p.m., History Channel. As Halloween nears, the cable people decide we need lots of creepy stuff.

"Two and a Half Men," 8:30 p.m., CBS. The guys meet the man their mother is dating and Charlie (Charlie Sheen) realizes the guy is the father of a woman he's been trying to avoid.

"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. Horatio (David Caruso) gets doubly involved with a murder case. He's almost killed in an explosion after finding the body. Then he finds a suspect who knew his late brother.
