Spaniard, Canadian capture Xterra titles

Eneko Llanos of Spain and Melanie McQuiad of Canada won their respective pro divisions at the 8th Annual Nissan Xterra World Championship, yesterday, at the Wailea Marriot, Maui.

Chad Seymour from Honolulu was Hawai'i's top finisher — placing 28th overall with a 2:57:04.

The course consisted of a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 30-kilometer mountain bike ride, and an 11-kilometer trail run.

Llanos, 26, completed the course in 2 hours, 32 minutes, 56 seconds, while McQuaid finished in 2:57:08.
