Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i hotels were 69.74 percent full in September, up from 66.04 percent a year ago, according to hotel consultancy PKF Hawaii LLP.

All islands had increases in occupancy except Moloka'i, which had a 12.13 percent decline. Statistics were based on a survey of 67 hotels and 60 resort condominiums.

Hawaiian to return 2 planes

Hawaiian Airlines will return two Boeing 717 planes and has extended its lease negotiations with Boeing Capital Corp. until Dec. 15, the company announced yesterday.

Returning the two 717s will save Hawaiian millions each year and falls in line with the airline's reduced interisland flight schedule, Hawaiian trustee Josh Gotbaum said.

Gotbaum said returning the planes will not affect service or Hawaiian's interisland schedule.

Aloha to fly to Pago Pago

Aloha Airlines will make two flights per week from Hawai'i to Pago Pago beginning Dec. 16, the company announced yesterday.

Aloha is kicking off its new service with introductory one-way fares of $299 from Honolulu; $324 from the Neighbor Islands; and $449 from Aloha's connecting flights originating from Burbank, Oakland, Orange County, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Reno and Phoenix. Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 11 for travel by March 16.
