• Carol Devenot, author of "Island Light Cuisine," will sign copies of her book and share food samples from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Compleat Kitchen in Kahala Mall. The time was incorrect in a Lit Beat listing posted Sunday.

• Attorney John Goemans filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Patrick Barrett, who challenged government programs benefiting Hawaiians. He later turned the case over to another lawyer. A Local News story posted yesterday incorrectly said he had filed the lawsuit on behalf of Earl Arakaki and others who raised a similar challenge.

• University of Hawai'i football mascot Vili Fehoko voluntarily went to the north end zone of Aloha Stadium during the second half of the UH-University of Texas-El Paso football game Saturday after an incident in which a UTEP cheerleader said she was struck by a ti leaf. The two discussed the situation, and Vili apologized. Vili was not accompanied by security personnel or led away by security, contrary to an account in a Sports story posted Sunday.

• The state pays Medicare premiums as well as deductibles and co-payments for the majority of Medicaid recipients who are on Medicare. This means that the increase in Medicare premiums will have no impact on Medicare patients who are also on Medicaid. Hawai'i has about 179,000 recipients in its Medicaid programs for low-income residents. A Local News story posted yesterday contained other information.
