Hale Kipa gets $25,000 pledge

Hale Kipa Inc. has announced that Central Pacific Bank has pledged $25,000 to its capital campaign. Hale Kipa embarked on a campaign earlier this year to raise money for a new core facility.

The facility will enable Hale Kipa to provide shelter, outreach, therapeutic, residential and foster care services to more of Hawai'i's youth at risk or in crisis.

"We believe Hale Kipa's new core facility will strengthen the organization's many valuable programs, making our community a healthier place for all," said Clint Arnoldus, chairman, president and CEO of Central Pacific Bank.

Golf tourney raises $35,000

The sixth annual Roy's Restaurants Golf Classic held recently at the Kapalua Bay course raised nearly $35,000 for Imua Family Services, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services for infants and children with developmental delays and special needs.

"The overwhelming success of this tournament is a result of the strong community support of the vital services provided by Imua Family Services," said restaurateur Roy Yamaguchi.

Bank gives center $4,000

The Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation has awarded a $4,000 grant to the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku. The nonprofit organization houses and supports other nonprofit agencies that provide assistance in health and social services on Maui.

The grant will help build a wheelchair-accessible restroom that will be near Cameron Center's warm-water therapy pool. A program is being developed for clients, such as stroke victims and arthritis sufferers, who will be given access to the pool and new bathroom.
