Kaiser football forfeit official

Advertiser Staff

Kaiser's forfeiture of a 33-8 win against Kalaheo on Oct. 18 is official, the O'ahu Interscholastic Association said yesterday.

The Cougars had to forfeit the win for using ineligible players in that game.

Although Kalaheo was told it could practice the day Kaiser reported the infraction to the league, the OIA executive council, which is made up of school principals, did not officially announce a ruling until yesterday.

The winner of the Kaiser-Kalaheo game was to get the fourth and final berth for the OIA White tournament, which starts Saturday.

Kalaheo will play White top seed Kapolei in a semifinal at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Mililani High's stadium.

In the other semifinal, Radford will play at 'Aiea at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

The winners advance to the White championship on Nov. 14 at Mililani. The two teams also will secure berths for the inaugural Division II state tournament.
