How Hawai'i hotels are faring

Statewide hotel occupancy rose by 4.9 percent to 73.5 percent but the average daily rate remained flat at $135.84 for the seven days ended Oct. 25, according to data released today by Hospitality Advisors LLC. Kaua'i hotels recorded a 1.7 percent gain in occupancy to 86.0 percent to lead the state in occupancy for the period, whereas Maui earned the highest average room rate of $164.61. O'ahu occupancy saw a 6.6 percent increase to 71.3 percent and experienced a 3.5 percent increase in room rate to $120.11.
