The Board of Water Supply has asked O'ahu residents to restrict their lawn and garden watering to between 12:01 a.m. and 10 a.m. or between 6 p.m. and midnight on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through next month.
Well levels continue to recover, the board said, and maintaining the voluntary water conservation program will bring wells back to a healthy condition.
Water use was down last week in five of the six water management districts on O'ahu. The biggest decline was in the Pearl Harbor district, where water use declined .93 million gallons per day. Water use was down .60 million gallons per day in the Honolulu district and .43 million gallons per day in the 'Ewa-Wai'anae district.
Only the Windward district had an increase, where use was up .04 million gallons per day.
