Tonight's Must-See
Marathons, all day. Labor Day, cable programmers feel, is a time for a labor-free day in front of the television. Marathon reruns include:
"Outer Limits," 4 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sci Fi Channel. These are the black-and-white classics.
"MASH," 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., The Hallmark Channel. We get the entire first season today.
"Law & Order," 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., TNT. The marathon starts with the show's first two episodes, which TNT hasn't aired before.
"For Love or Money Reunion," 8 p.m., NBC. Here, oddly, is a reunion for a show that hasn't finished yet. In the first round, Rob Campos (a handsome-but-wooden lawyer) chose Erin Brodie (the gorgeous daughter of former football star John Brodie). She rejected him and became the center of the second round; he returned and last week she rejected him anew. Next week, Brodie chooses between two sales guys. First, we get this recap of both shows.
Of Note
"Stargate SG-1," 4 p.m., Sci-Fi. Here's a quick mini-marathon following "Outer Limits."
"Any Given Sunday" (1999), 7 p.m., ABC. With no "Monday Night Football" today, ABC fills the gap with Oliver Stone's intense film. A young quarterback (Jamie Foxx) steps in, as his coach (Al Pacino) frets and fumes. Also stars Cameron Diaz.
"Waking Ned Devine" (1998), 7 p.m., Pax TV. Some critics were fond of this comedy. In a tiny Irish village, people scheme after a man wins the lottery, then dies.
"Who Wants to Marry My Dad?" 9:10 p.m., NBC. Here's a reunion that makes sense. We learn what happened between Don Mueller, the likable Cincinnati businessman, and the woman (Christena Ferran, a San Diego model, event planner and mother of two) whom his four children chose for him.
