When Hawai'i's soccer offense needed help against Bowling Green last night, junior forward Robyn deHay was more than happy to provide an assist.

DeHay tied a school record with three assists and Natasha Kai scored two goals in Hawai'i's 4-0 victory in the 'Ohana Hotels and Resorts No Ka 'Oi women's soccer tournament.

Arlene Devitt and Krisha Kai each added one goal for the Rainbow Wahine.

"We have such great athletes in Arlene and Natasha, I would (feel awful) if I couldn't get an assist a game," said deHay, who matched the UH single-game record held by Tiffany Makue and Erin Quattromani.

Hawai'i (1-1) finished second to 11th-ranked Arizona State (2-0) in the three-team tournament at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Last night, the Rainbow Wahine got off to a lackluster start against Bowling Green (0-2) but were bailed out by the unselfish play of seniors Mia Moe and Devitt, a three-time All-Western Athletic Conference forward who returned after sitting out the season-opener for disciplinary reasons.

"The first 20 minutes we were flat as a pancake," Hawai'i coach Pinsoom Tenzing said. "But a few kids kept us in the game. Mia Moe in the middle of the field and Arlene up top. The movement of the ball was beautiful."

Devitt scored Hawai'i's first goal 29 minutes into the game on assists by deHay and Tia Medeiros.

"She's the biggest leader on the team, vocally, physically, everything," deHay said of Devitt. "She just wants to win. She's a competitor."

Hawai'i added its second goal two minutes before halftime when deHay threaded a pass to Natasha Kai streaking down the right sideline. Kai outraced the defense and scored on a breakaway.

Natasha Kai scored her second goal at the 68th minute. This time, deHay lofted a ball over the defense to Natasha Kai who tapped the ball past the charging goalie.

Hawai'i's final goal came in the 76th minute when freshman Krisha Kai — Natasha's sister — controlled a lob pass from Moe and chipped the ball over the goalie.

Hawai'i placed the most players on the all-tournament team with five, followed by Arizona State (four) and Bowling Green (two).
