Southern California was a unanimous choice as the top women's volleyball team in the country, while Hawai'i is No. 2 in the first regular-season poll released yesterday.
The USA Today/AVCA Division I Top 25 poll has the 2002 national champions with 65 first-place votes and 1,625 points.
The Rainbow Wahine, which reached the final four last year, are in second place with 1,550 points.
The top 4 spots remained unchanged from the preseason poll.
Hawai'i's lone loss this season came to the Trojans in the State Farm Volleyball Classic on Aug. 23.
