Campbell kicks off career at SMU

Freshman Adria Campbell is off to a good start. In the first weekend of her intercollegiate soccer career, she amassed four points on one goal and two assists for No. 22 Southern Methodist.

She assisted on the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to No. 6 Texas Sunday.

Campbell (Punahou '03 of Kailua) also had a goal and an assist in a 10-1 trouncing of Sam Houston State Friday.

• Pacific University: Sophomore Karley Peterson (Leilehua of Wahiawa) scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute on an assist from junior Jean Kasamoto (Mid-Pacific of Honolulu) in Pacific's 4-3 win over the Savannah College of Art & Design Monday.

Junior Kalei Titcomb (Kamehameha of Kailua) assisted on the Boxers' first goal.

• Loyola Marymount: Senior Shari Nishikawa (Iolani '00 of Kane'ohe) scored the first goal in a 2-0 win over Cal State Northridge Friday.



FOOTBALL

• Brigham Young: Junior safety Aaron Francisco (Kahuku '00 of La'ie) had three solo tackles and a fumble recovery in a season-opening 24-13 victory over Georgia Tech Saturday.

• New Mexico Highlands: Sophomore wide receiver Ikaika Neizman (Lahainaluna of Lahaina, Maui) scored the Cowboys' first touchdown of the game on a 70-yard reception with 1:35 left in the first half Saturday against Northern Colorado.

Neizman had three catches for 144 yards in a 72-13 loss.



VOLLEYBALL

• Loyola Marymount: Senior Kealani Kimball (Kamehameha '00 of Kaunakakai) was named to the all-tournament team in the LMU Furama Hotel Invitational after posting 38 kills and 42 digs as the Lions went 3-0.

• Fresno State: Freshman Michelle "Tuli" Peters (Kahuku '03) had 31 kills and 23 digs as the Bulldogs won the Fresno State Invitational last weekend.
