How Hawai'i hotels are faring

O'ahu continued to experience strong occupancy growth with a 20.6 percent surge in occupancy to 77.3 percent while average room rate increased to $113.88 for the week ended Saturday, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. Kaua'i and Maui continue to lead all islands in occupancy at 79.9 percent and 79.7 percent respectively. Statewide occupancy improved to 77.1 percent while average room rate slipped slightly to $139.39. The Big Island trailed other islands with adecrease in occupancy to 70.0 percent.
