Bruce Irons won two heats yesterday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Boost Mobile Pro. The third and fourth rounds were held in 4- to 5-foot waves at Lower Trestles, Calif.
Bruce edged Andy in the third round, 15.50-15.17.
"I'm glad my brother is doing well," Andy Irons said. "It's a bummer he had to beat me, but I hope he goes on and wins it."
