Tonight's Must-See

"Ed," 7 p.m., NBC. Two weeks before its season opener, this quirky series finally returns. Tentatively scheduled is a rerun of the episode that complicated the triangle. Ed could have remained happy with fellow lawyer Frankie (Sabrina Lloyd) except that Carol (Julie Bowen) renews her interest in him. Meanwhile, he's distracted by a case involving his old sixth-grade teacher (Christopher Lloyd).

Of Note

"The Reality of Reality: Behind the Scenes," 1, 5, 6 and 10 p.m., Bravo. Producers discuss the details of making a reality show work.

"Thomas L. Friedman Reporting: Searching for the Roots of 9/11," 7 and 10 p.m., Discovery Channel. Friedman, a New York Times columnist, probes the Muslim distrust of Americans.

"The George Lopez Show," 7:30 and 8 p.m., ABC, and "Inside the NFL," 7 p.m., HBO. Lopez continues to be everywhere. First, he has two reruns — one concerning his son's baseball team, the other involving his daughter's hickey. Then he shows up to talk football on HBO.

"The West Wing," 8 p.m., NBC. As the president prepares to speak to his daughter's graduating class, there are troubles all around in this rerun. Some suspected terrorists have disappeared. C.J. struggles to persuade Danny not to file a story.

"Law & Order," 9 p.m., NBC. In a rerun, the admissions director of an upscale elementary school has been found bludgeoned to death.

"The Family," 9 p.m., ABC. Here is the finale, as we learn which family member won the money.
