Lobendahn's loss 'a real blow' to Huskies

Advertiser Staff

Calling it "a real blow," Washington coach Keith Gilbertson said on the school's Web site that inside linebacker Joe Lobendahn (Saint Louis '01 of Honolulu) is "going to have surgery probably in 10 days to two weeks after which he'll be out for the season."

Lobendahn, a junior, injured his right knee while making a tackle early in the game against Indiana Saturday in Seattle. No. 21 Washington won, 38-13.

Lobendahn was coming off a solid game against Ohio State in which he led the Huskies with six unassisted tackles (seven total).
