Cruise line will be at job fair

Norwegian Cruise Line will interview applicants for interisland cruise jobs at a career fair next Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Filipino Community Center.

Norwegian is hiring more than 2,000 to work aboard its cruise ships. For more information call the FilCom Center at 680-0451.


Bank opens new flagship branch

American Savings Bank yesterday held a grand opening for its new flagship branch at Tamarind Park at Bishop Square.

The bank includes a wall of plasma screens that provide financial news and information on the bank's products and services.

"A major transformation has taken place that has touched every business line at American Savings Bank," said Constance Lau, bank president and chief executive. "We have been transformed from being a retail thrift to the third largest bank (financial institution) in the state. ..."

With the opening of its new main branch, the bank is closing its Richards Street location on Oct. 17.
