Today is the 18th day of the city bus strike.
No new negotiations were scheduled yesterday between O'ahu Transit Services and the Hawai'i Teamsters and Allied Workers Local 996, which represents more than 1,300 striking bus workers. Talks broke off Wednesday night when the two sides could not agree on wage and benefit issues.
The union has rejected a plan, offered up by OTS on Wednesday, for a 90-day "cooling-off period," during which employees would return to work while negotiators try to reach an agreement.
