Bike Factory Hale'iwa Triathlon set for Nov. 1

The Bike Factory Hale'iwa Triathlon will be Nov. 1 at 6:30 a.m.

The event will feature a 400-yard swim, 12-mile bicycle ride and 3-mile run.

Cost for individual entries is $55, while team entries are $90. Entries postmarked after Oct. 24 will be $65 for individuals and $100 for teams.

The event fee will include a long-sleeve shirt and a continental breakfast.

Entry forms are available at the Bike Factory, 24-Hour Fitness locations, Boca Hawai'i, Hawaiian Waters Park and sporting good stores around O'ahu.

HUNTING

• Education classes offered The Hawai'i Department of Land and Natural Resources is offering free hunter education classes Sept. 19 and 20 at the Nimitz Business Center at 1130 N. Nimitz Highway, A, 212A.

The class will be from 5:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Sept. 19 and from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 20.

The class is open to anyone 10 years of age or older. Students must present a picture ID.

The classes will cover firearm and archery safety, survival and first-aid, wildlife identification, rules and regulations, game care and conservation.

Attendance at both sessions is required for certification.
