'OHANA BRIEFS
Kids, grandparents

Advertiser Staff

Next Sunday is Grandparents Day at the Hawaii Children's Discovery Center, 111 'Ohe St. Activities include taking of photos, which children and grandparents can put together in a memory book; exercise sessions for the two generations together; and an interactive cooking station. The second annual event will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 21; $8 ($6.75 for ages 2-17, grandparents free with one paid child). Information: 524-5437.

Slumber preference

Grandparents may love to visit their grandkids, but when it comes to overnight stays, they'd rather sleep somewhere else. According to a survey by a hotel chain, more than two-thirds of grandparents said they would rather stay in a hotel than with their grandkids.

Most said they would prefer a hotel because they want more privacy; 31 percent said there isn't enough space at their grandkids' house.
