WASHINGTON — Here are some actions in Congress last week.

Key House votes

1. Transportation, Treasury spending

On Tuesday, the House passed, 381-39, a bill that would provide $89.6 billion for the Transportation, Treasury departments and independent agencies for fiscal 2004. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

Hawai'i votes: Neil Abercrombie (D) YEA; Ed Case (D) YEA



2. District of Columbia spending

On Tuesday, the House passed, 210-206, a bill that would provide $7.9 billion for the District of Columbia for fiscal 2004. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

Hawai'i votes: Neil Abercrombie (D) NAY; Ed Case (D) NAY



3. Financial privacy

On Wednesday, the House passed on a 392-30 vote a bill that would block states from enacting new financial privacy laws and set one national standard. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

Key Senate votes

1. Overtime rules

On Wednesday, the Senate voted 54-45 to block the Labor Department from implementing new overtime rules. A "yea" vote was to block the new rules.
