Hawai'i soccer team wins, 5-2

Natasha Kai had a hat trick and Robyn deHay added two more goals as the University of Hawai'i women's soccer team beat Utah Valley State, 5-2, last night at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Arlene Devitt and Natalie Groenewoud each had two assists for Hawai'i, which scored the game's first five goals.

Hawai'i is 4-1-1; Utah Valley State is 3-2-1.



CROSS COUNTRY

UH women win: The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team won the six-team San Francisco Invitational yesterday at Golden Gate Park.

Chantelle Laan (16:57), Dana Buchanan (17:32) and Monica Su (17:37) led a 1-2-3 UH finish on the 2.7-mile course.

HPU sweeps: Hawai'i Pacific University swept the men's and women's cross country team titles at the BYU-Hawai'i Invitational yesterday at La'ie.



MEETING

Honolulu QB Club: Brothers Alema and Tau Harrington, co-hosts of "Backfield Banter" on radio station KKEA 1420 AM, will be the featured speakers at tomorrow's weekly meeting of the Honolulu Quarterback Club at the Pagoda Restaurant.

"Backfield Banter" airs from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Also scheduled to speak is comedian Lanai.

The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m., and the program begins at noon.
