Persis wraps up $29 million deal

Persis Corp. of Hawai'i announced it has completed a $29 million sale-leaseback transaction with drugstore operator CVS Corp.

The transaction includes eight retail properties developed by CVS in Florida, Georgia, Texas, Illinois and Ohio.

Persis is a privately held family company established in Honolulu in 1856 and former owner of The Advertiser.


Price of gas still at record high

The average price of regular gasoline statewide remained at a record high of $2.120 a gallon yesterday — a peak hit on Saturday, according to AAA auto club.

Gasoline prices in Hawai'i have risen steadily for several weeks despite a continued decline in prices both on the West Coast and nationwide.
