Advertiser Staff

Sophomore Erin Seu of Babson (Babson Park, Mass.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tennis Player of the Week for her part in conference wins against MIT and Mount Holyoke this past weekend.

Against MIT, the 2002 Punahou graduate from Honolulu earned one of Babson's two singles wins — a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 6. She teamed with Fran Russo for an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles. It was the first time in NEWMAC history (dating to 1998) that the Beavers beat MIT.

Seu also teamed with Russo for an 8-2 win against Mount Holyoke. She also won a 6-1, 6-4 singles match at the No. 5 position.

Babson is 3-0 with all three victories coming in conference play.

Seu is 17-1 in singles play, including an 8-0 record against NEWMAC competition. In doubles play, she and Russo are 21-2, including 11-0 in conference. Last year she was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team at fifth singles and second doubles.
