What I'm dying to buy right now: A '60s-inspired Kate Spade handbag in black canvas with snakeskin trim and pink-and-white polka dot lining.
The best bargain I ever found: A machine-washable stretchy fabric column dress at Mary Z's in Kailua five years ago for $18.
I'm willing to pay more for top quality when it comes to: Classic/key wardrobe pieces: pants, skirts, jackets. You can wear them forever and then pair them up with other trendy tops or accessories.
I can never get enough: First gut answer: exercise. Second correct fashion answer: hair bands and crazy printed socks.
My favorite designers are: Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan, MaxMara, Adrienne Vittadini
My favorite places to shop are: Agnes B, White House/Black Market, Kailua Beach Walk
Who inspires my look: Strangers I observe, including women at parties in holomu and hats, women in ethnic-inspired clothes (kimono fabrics, Chinese silk jackets), women at work in tailored career dresses, young women with their very cool irreverent-styled jeans, cargo pants and hipster skirts and accessories.
My biggest fashion faux pas was: Running out of the house behind schedule and when I arrived for the luncheon business meeting, realizing I still had on my dog-chewed rubber slippers. Oh, but I had a nice skirt and blouse to go with them.
