Mari Chun, a Kamehameha Schools junior, has helped put Hawai'i in a tie for 12th place after two rounds of the 2003 USGA Women's State Team Championships at Wellesley Hills, Mass.
Chun, who lives in Pearl City, shot a 2-over-par 75 yesterday at the Wellesley Country Club and has a two-round total of 5-over 151.
She is teamed with Desiree Ting (78-80158) of Wailuku and Bobbi Kokx (80-80160) of Kula.
The two lowest scores by players from each team constitute the team score for each round. Hawai'i stands at 309, tied with Massachusetts in the 48-team field.
Ohio (296) takes a three-stroke lead over North Carolina, Georgia and Oregon into today's final round.
