Man arrested in Kaka'ako hit-run

Advertiser Staff

A 32-year-old Moanalua man was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of being the hit-and-run driver in an accident last year that injured three pedestrians in Kaka'ako.

At the request of prosecutors, the man voluntarily came to the Honolulu Police Department’s main station Tuesday to be booked on failure to render aid and first-degree negligent injury. He is expected to be charged either by indictment or criminal complaint.

A man, his wife and daughter were struck by a car on Aug. 2, 2002, while crossing Auahi Street between Ward Warehouse and Ward Farmer’s Market at 7:50 p.m. The driver of the car was arrested about two hours later.
