Hale Mohalu anniversary observed

Hansen's disease activists Bernard Punikaia, left, and Clarence Naia yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of the destruction of Hale Mohalu, the Pearl City facility from which they were evicted in 1983. In 1996, a new Hale Mohalu was built as an affordable rental complex with units for seniors and the disabled, including some Hansen's patients.
