Rehab hospital reports earnings

Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific said yesterday that it earned $1.2 million in operating income on revenue of $51.5 million in the 11 months ended August. In the same period a year ago, the hospital lost $5.9 million on revenue of $50.3 million.
CEO Stuart Ho said last year's loss was because of a reorganization and a change in Medicare rules.
Hawai'i gas prices still rising
The average price of regular gasoline in Hawai'i continued to climb yesterday, reaching a new high of $2.131 a gallon, according to AAA. At that level, the state's average gasoline price remains the highest in the nation and more than 51 cents above the national average.
