"Wonderful World of Disney: Remember the Titans" (2000), 7 p.m., ABC. For most of the past 43 years, the Disney anthology series has been imbedded on Sunday nights. Beginning in 1960, except for a few brief lapses (the longest was 1981-86), it's always aired on Sundays — whether on ABC, NBC or the Disney Channel. Now ABC — owned by Disney — has moved the show to Saturdays, starting with a film that scored at the box office and with critics. This is the true story of a black football coach who took over a Virginia high school program in the 1970s, following a popular white coach. Denzel Washington stars in what has become an audience favorite.

Of Note

"Philadelphia" (1993), 5 & 7:30 p.m., Bravo. Tom Hanks won his second Academy Award for this portrayal of a lawyer who fights back after being fired for having AIDS. The top-level production includes Antonio Banderas as Hanks' lover and Denzel Washington as his lawyer.

"Jerry Maguire" (1996), 7 p.m., NBC. It's a battle of football films tonight. While ABC has "Titans," NBC has the oft-repeated "Jerry Maguire." Tom Cruise stars as a sports agent who discovers ethics. Cameron Crowe wrote a smart script and directed a great cast of supporting actors. Cuba Gooding Jr. won an Oscar for his performance in the film, which also stars Jerry O'Connell, Jay Mohr and Renee Zellweger and Jonathan Lipnicki as a wonderful mother and son.

"Killer Flood: The Day the Dam Burst" (2003), 8 p.m., Pax TV. Michele Greene stars as a mayor with troubles: Her city will be washed away if there's a failure in the dam designed by her estranged husband (Joe Lando). This is one of the best of Pax's many naughty nature films.

"The District," 9 p.m., CBS. Mannion returns to Washington, D.C., to try to get his job back.
