Rehab patients sell creations

Advertiser Staff

The artists of Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific's Louis Vuitton Creative Arts Program present the 4th annual Art From the Heart exhibition and fund-raiser, 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the lobby of the hospital.

Artwork, gift boxes, flower pots and handmade bags made by program participants will be available for purchase at the event.

"This is an affordable way to get original art for homes, offices and other spaces," program coordinator Ellen Matsumoto said in a press release.

"Paintings range from $50 to $500, and most of the artists are there to make the purchase even more special."

The art therapy program provides a creative outlet for patients who are learning to cope with their new disability.

Patients and former patients receive art instruction for 10 hours a week at the hospital, then sell their creations at the annual show.

Money raised benefits the program and artists. Admission is free. For details: 566-3790.
