Body found near sailboat
Police are investigating the death of a 49-year-old local man whose body was discovered yesterday floating near Ke'ehi Boat Harbor off Sand Island Access Road. The man was spotted at about 4 p.m. by another boater navigating near the dead man's sailboat, police said.
He was pulled ashore and pronounced dead. An autopsy will be performed today. The man's identity had not been confirmed yesterday. A worker in the area said the man's dilapidated white sailboat ran partially up on shore several days ago outside the harbor behind a commercial building. Last night the boat was tilted to one side, its bow resting on a mud bank.

Lost hikers rescued
Two men, a woman and a dog were airlifted by the Air One helicopter off the trail behind Dillingham Airfield after becoming lost Saturday during a hike and spending the night on the mountainside. HFD Capt. Kenison Tejada said the hikers spent the night and thought they could find their way out yesterday morning, but still could not make their way down, and used a cell phone to call for help shortly before 11 a.m.
A rescue crew was able to direct the hikers to an open area, where they were picked up thirsty, but unhurt.
