Two sentenced in drug case

Advertiser Staff

Two brothers have been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison for their involvement in an ice-trafficking organization in Hawai'i.

U.S. District Judge Susan Oki Mollway sentenced James M. Muns yesterday to 11 years and three months in prison. On Sept. 22, Mollway gave Harold O. Muns the same sentence.

The two men were convicted of arranging for 20 pounds of ice to be transported to Hawai'i for distribution in March 1998, said U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo. Law enforcement agents seized about 13 of the 20 pounds from Aloalii Tootoo, who was convicted in a separate case, Kubo said.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Brady prosecuted the case.
