Ameron, Teamsters reach tentative deal

Ameron Hawaii, the state's largest concrete producer, and Teamsters reached a tentative agreement today, settling a eight-week strike that stalled construction projects throughout O'ahu.
Union negotiators agreed to a plan that will have employees paying 30 percent of their medical cost by the end of the five-year contract. The company will increase workers hourly wages by $4.20 per hour by the fifth year.
A ratification vote is scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
