Tonight's Must-See

"Survivor: All-Stars," 7 p.m. and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., both CBS. The basketball detour is over, and Thursdays return to normal. "CSI" celebrates with a new episode. A slim man has apparently beaten a husky man to death. And "Survivor"? So far, it's been survival of the least-strong. Gone are all four of the past champions who entered: Richard Hatch, Tina Wesson and Ethan Zohn were ousted; Jenna Morasca quit to be with her dying mother. Also gone are four more strong figures — Colby Donaldson, Rudy Boesch and Rob Cesternino were ousted and Susan Hawk quit.

Of Note

"Friends," 7 p.m., NBC. Tonight, we learn which episode was chosen by fans as the second best ever.

"Tru Calling," 7 p.m., Fox. Tru is still trying to figure out the new morgue assistant's agenda. He's played by Jason Priestley ("90210"). She also tries to prevent the murder of a reporter who gave her a hard time.

"Will & Grace," 7:30 p.m., NBC. Will nervously brings his new boyfriend (Bobby Cannavale) to Grace for approval, but then is upset by her reaction. Meanwhile, Jack holds auditions for someone to be his new friend after Karen marries.

"Penn & Teller: Bull!" season opener, 8 p.m., Showtime. The comic-magic duo likes to puncture strongly held beliefs. Tonight's debut looks at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA); it's followed by a rerun on Ouija boards.

"The Apprentice," 8 p.m., NBC. With only five people left, they face a challenge involving Manhattan real estate. The winners jet off to a luxurious reward.

"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. As the residents are evaluated, Carter sticks up for his soft-spoken protégé, Neela (Parminder Nagra). He urges her to be more forceful, advice that soon goes bad.

"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. Movie star Tony Goldwyn plays twins who may know something about a missing woman.
