Tonight's Must-See
Basketball, 1 p.m., CBS. The NCAA tournament reaches its giddy peak with the final four in San Antonio, Texas. Tonight, they have a double-header Georgia Tech vs. Oklahoma State, then Duke vs. Connecticut.
"Kids' Choice Awards," 6 p.m., Nickelodeon. Each year, this show draws big stars and big ratings. Outkast and Avril Lavigne provide the music this year, with Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers hosting. Adam Sandler will be there, getting the award as the person kids most want to be.
Of Note
"The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999), 7 p.m., NBC. This remake is fun (with a clever script). Director John McTiernan used gorgeous settings and two photogenic stars: Pierce Brosnan plays a wealthy thief and Rene Russo is an insurance investigator.
"The Emperor's New Groove" (2000), 7 p.m., ABC. This light-hearted comedy has a mean-spirited emperor (voiced by David Spade) being transformed into a
llama. Sting wrote two songs and the voices include those of Eartha Kitt and Tom Jones.
"Danny Phantom" debut, 7:30 p.m., Nickelodeon. This channel keeps rolling out fun hits. This one is about an ordinary kid who becomes half-ghost; now he confronts spirits from beyond.
"Law & Order," 9 p.m., NBC. When a mob informant is killed, police suspect that a real estate broker doubles as a hit man.
"Nashville Star," 10 p.m., USA. Last week, viewers saw some superb songwriting skills. In particular, Lance Miller's funny "Beer's Not For Breakfast" and Brad Cotter's emotional "I Miss Me." Tonight's show starts by saying which two have been voted off. The remaining six sing tunes by Willie Nelson.
"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Donald Trump hosts. The musical guest is reggae group Toots and the Maytals. They'll be joined by Bootsy Collins, The Roots, Ben Harper and Jack Johnson.
