10 charged in Chinatown bust

Ten people arrested Thursday in Chinatown were charged Saturday with third-degree promotion of dangerous drugs.

Billy P. Thomas, 50; Paul Faria, 45; Roxanne Pauli, 38; Reginald Apilado, 49; Susan Reis, 46; Lee Williams, 40; Reginald Blake, 53; Christie Higuchi, 42; Billy Jo Nelson, 35, and Eldred Adams, 55, all had bail set at $15,000.

Four arrested in Pawa'a raid

Police seized firearms, drugs and cash Friday in a raid on a Pawa'a-area public housing unit In the 1500 block of Kalakaua Avenue, a "Weed & Seed" district.

Two men, 46 and 25, and two women, 49 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of dealing crystal methamphetamine and marijuana.

The raid was the result of an undercover narcotics investigation.

The four were booked on charges of promoting dangerous drugs after the 6:35 a.m. raid.

All were released pending further investigation.

Woman, 84, hit by van on Kuhio

An 84-year-old female pedestrian was critically injured today after being struck by a van on Kuhio Avenue near Launiu Street in Waikiki.

The accident was reported to police at 9:42 a.m. The woman, a Kaimuki resident, was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center with critical injuries, said Emergency Medical Services assistant operations chief Donnie Gates.

Kuhio Avenue between Kai‘olu and Kalaimoku streets was closed to traffic due to the accident investigation.

Camper struck on head in tent

'ANINI, Kaua‘i — A 21-year-old man from Alaska was struck on the head early today by a man who entered his camping tent.

The injured man was treated at Wilcox Memorial Hospital and released.

The unprovoked attack occurred at about 2:15 a.m. The visitor’s companion, an 18-year-old woman from Alaska, was not injured.

The couple told police a man entered their tent uninvited and was asked to leave. The assailant returned about 45 minutes later and struck the victim with the hammer.
